Vall D'hebron University Hospital

one of The Best hospital ever , specially cancer treatment , staff , doctors everyone is so good and friendly you always feel them like a family ... will always cooperate with you.. my brother is having an excellent treatment here and we are very greatfull to them for always being there for us . even if u mail doctor he will reply you ... my daughter when born had a problem so they have to kept her in a light box , this hospital was recomended and they provided the best care they good .. except for one nurse who was too rude.. but overall its a great hospital with almost every medical service ...

Ofcourse, it's a government hospital, my review wont matter but just to prepare the minds of anyone going. If you dont speak Spanish or Catalan, you are finished especially if you go to the emergency. Your case will have the least priority. Been currently waiting 7hrs in the emergency as i write. I came in with high blood pressure above the roof. Nobody cared, i was just another job they had to survive. I had a panic attack 3hrs into waiting, i sat in one corner crying because i couldnt understand what was going on..everyone kept walking pass. After like an hour, i calmed down talking to my family on phone. After 6hrs of waiting they put me in one room, told me the doctor was coming..nobody came..one hour waiting in that room. I came out, the nurses were all pressing their phones but ofcourse, what could i do. Stay back in the room and cry some more. I havent felt this worthless in my entire life. My only fear is leaving the hospital and passing out in a taxi or on the bus. I feel if i am to die from high blood pressure, let me be at the hospital. This is the only reason i havent left. If i die here, I'm just another sick person who died and work goes on. Truly a heartbreaking experience.

As an American whose visit to Barcelona was quickly interrupted by the need for an emergency appendectomy, I will always be grateful for the care I received at Vall d'Hebron. The green tile in my hospital room may have looked a little dated, but I quickly realized that the "bling" is reserved for the surgical unit and the fantastic professional medical staff. I'll also point out one other great discovery, the food at the hospital's cafeteria was the most authentic Catalan experience that I enjoyed during my entire stay! I even returned to the cafeteria after I was discharged.

I was diagnosed in Vall de'Hebron with BPD after attempting suicide. The staff took it very seriously and many time I went to Emergency for suicidal thoughts and was taken in immediately. Only one nurse seemed to think I was not worth it and stabbed me very hard with a drip needle. I slept one night in the psych ward and everyone was very kind. I had treatment for years there before we moved and the psychologist and psychiatrist were both wonderful. I would advise that you call before your scheduled psych appointments, as there were some changes in schedules and I sometimes went there and my psychiatrist was on duty in the emergency ward. The psych ward here is the best I have ever encountered.
